What is Proper ProWear?

Proper ProWear creates hair-resistant workwear for barbers, hairdressers and grooming professionals. Founded by a barber, the range includes the original Barber Armour two-piece suit and Proper T, our boxy, oversized work T-shirt.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Barber Armour and Proper T?

Barber Armour is a two-piece set with a long-sleeved zip-up top and matching trousers. Its adjustable collar and cuffed wrists and ankles provide more coverage. Proper T is a short-sleeved, boxy, oversized T-shirt to pair with your own trousers. Choose the style and coverage that suit your working day.

Who is Proper ProWear designed for?

Our workwear is designed for barbers, hairdressers, stylists, educators and grooming professionals who work around loose cut hair or fur.

Is Proper T available now?

Proper T is in stock and available now. Order online with free standard UK delivery or arrange to collect from our store at Unit 5, Cooksoe Farm, Chicheley, MK16 9JP. Please contact us to arrange a suitable collection time. Personalised embroidery may require extra preparation time.

How do I choose my size?

Barber Armour: sizing can differ from your everyday clothes, so we recommend choosing one size up from your usual size, unless you are both shorter in height and slim-built, when your usual size may suit.

Proper T: a boxy, oversized fit with dropped shoulders. Choose your usual size for the intended oversized look, or size down for a closer fit.

See our size guide. Not sure? Contact us with your height and chest size and we’ll recommend a size.

How much is delivery?

Standard UK delivery is FREE on every order, with no minimum spend. In-stock orders are usually prepared within 1–2 working days. International delivery is calculated at checkout. See our shipping policy.

Can I return or exchange my order?

For eligible non-personalised online purchases, you have 14 days after delivery to tell us you wish to cancel, followed by a further 14 days to return the goods. Size exchanges are available subject to stock. Custom-embroidered items are generally excluded from change-of-mind cancellation, but statutory rights for faulty or incorrectly supplied goods remain unaffected. See our returns and refund policy.

Does hair-resistant mean no hair can get inside?

No garment can eliminate all contact with loose hair. Coverage depends on the design: Barber Armour covers the arms and legs, while Proper T has short sleeves and is worn with your own trousers. Choose the coverage you need and follow each product’s care instructions.

Can I add my business logo?

Yes. Tick “Add logo embroidery” on the Barber Armour or Proper T product page (the price shows next to it), then email your logo and order number to customersupport@properprowear.com. Ordering for a team? See team uniforms.

How should I care for my workwear?

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. Do not tumble dry, and avoid fabric softener, which can affect the hair-resistant finish. Each product page has its own care details.

What is included with each product?

Barber Armour includes one zip-up top and one pair of matching trousers. Proper T includes one T-shirt; trousers and other styling items are not included. Custom embroidery is an optional extra.

Where can I find the product details?

Visit Barber Armour for the suit’s design, sizing and care details, or Proper T for the T-shirt’s fit, size chart and delivery information.
